About Salira Salira Systems, Inc. was founded in 2000 to develop systems that combine the simplicity of Ethernet with the power of fiber optics to deliver broadband services more effectively. In other words, systems that are Ethernet Simple, Fiber Fast™. Since that time, Salira has created a comprehensive product line based on the IEEE 802.3ah standard for Gigabit-level Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPON). In 2005, Salira became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd. and Hitachi, Ltd (NYSE: HIT). By leveraging Hitachi’s world-class R&D and manufacturing capabilities, Salira is able to provide the product quality and supply chain excellence that service providers demand. Salira is now uniquely-positioned to overcome the persistent “last mile” challenges faced by service providers around the world. Salira has partnered with Teknovus, Inc., the leading provider of Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) chipsets, since 2004. Together, Salira and Teknovus are fundamentally changing the design of broadband access networks by increasing transport capacity, optimizing fiber infrastructure, improving network management and drastically reducing the cost of fiber-based access systems. Salira also has a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region. Since 2001, Salira has maintained an R&D facility in Shanghai. In addition, there are offices in Shanghai and Beijing that are responsible for sales and marketing in the Asia-Pacific region. For more information, visit Salira China’s website. |
