Team
Dr. Yanming Liu, Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Liu is President and CEO of Salira Systems, Inc. He has
held several management positions, including VP, Business
Development at Optovia and VP, Marketing and Strategic Development
at Walsin Management Company. Prior to this, Dr. Liu was Director,
Communication Electronics and Integration in Corning Incorporated.
Prior to that, he held several management positions in Corning,
as Manager of International Market Development Engineering,
Program Manager of Metro Fiber, as well as Manager of Access
Fiber in the Optical Fiber Division. Earlier, Dr. Liu was
inventor and one of the principal developers of Corning’s
award-winning LEAF fiber. Subsequently, he led the international
technical marketing of the LEAF fiber, which became a multi-billion
dollar product line. LEAF fiber has been selected as one of
the most important product developments in the fiber optics
industry and deployed on 6 of the earth’s 7 continents.
Dr. Liu has an MBA degree from MIT’s Sloan School of
Management as a Sloan Fellow (sponsored by Corning) and Ph.D.
in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He also
received M.S.E. and B.S.E. degrees in Precision Instruments
Engineering from Tianjin University in China.
Takashi Mori, Chief Operating Officer, Salira China
Mr. Mori joined Salira Systems, Inc. as Chief Operations
Officer from Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd. He is
responsible for all operational aspects of the company’s
products including logistics, development and customer support
in China. Mori has been working in the field of telecommunications
for more than twenty years, developing and deploying optical
transport systems, SDH/SONET transmission systems and DWDM
systems. He has deployed core network infrastructure in major
telecom carriers in both Japan and the U.S. Mori holds a bachelor’s
degree in Physical Engineering from Tokyo University, Japan.
James Chen, VP Engineering
Mr. Chen is a twenty year veteran in the telecommunications
and data networking industry with an extensive background
in RISC, Compiler, Massively Parallel Computer Systems and
complex Telco Communications Systems. Mr. Chen had held capacities
in well-known corporationsMIPs computer, Silicon Graphics,
Tandem Computer, Sun Microsystems, Hitachi Data Systems, Com21 and Cisco Systemsboth as principal designer as well
as engineering management and planner. Prior to joining Salira,
Mr. Chen led an engineering team at Iospan Wireless, Inc.
in San Jose, developing fixed-wireless broadband access systems.
Mr. Chen holds an M.S.E.E degree from Villanova University,
Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jeffrey R. Stribling, VP Systems Engineering
and Customer Service
Dr. Stribling received his Ph.D. from Stanford University,
where he developed multi-carrier transmission methods for
wireless data networks. Stribling then ran the System Integration
Laboratory for the Wireless Broadband Network Division of
Lucent Technologies. He also has managed System Engineering
groups at Geyser Networks and Iospan, now a division of L3
Communications.
