SALIRA EXECUTIVES ADDRESS CABLE INDUSTRY ABOUT FIBER-TO-THE-PREMISES STRATEGIES

CTO and VP of Marketing will speak on DOCSIS Management of Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (DePON)

SANTA CLARA – February 24, 2009 – Salira Systems, Inc, the leading supplier of DOCSIS® managed EPON systems announced today that two Salira executives will address the cable industry at upcoming events.  James Chen, CTO will speak at the SCTE Conference on Emerging Technologies® 2009 in Washington, DC.  Mr. Chen will present a technical paper and address the conference on the topic of “DOCSIS Management of EPON Networks”.  This subject is gaining increasing attention as cable operators move from HFC to Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) architectures. DOCSIS managed EPON (DePON) enables FTTP without duplicating existing investments in DOCSIS management and operations.  The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers sponsors the Conference on Emerging Technologies.  It is a one-day conference held on Friday, April 3, 2009 at The Cable Show Washington Convention Center.
Dr. Jeff Stribling, VP of Marketing and Customer Service for Salira will speak at the Cable Next-Gen Broadband Strategies conference in Denver on Feb 24th.  Cable Next-Gen Broadband Strategies is the 2nd annual conference created to investigate the cable industry's plans to introduce powerful new broadband technologies and develop fiber-to-the-premises architectures.  In addition to Salira’s Dr. Stribling, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), leading cable operators and industry analysts will discuss deployment of Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) technology.
