| Salira 3345
The Salira 3345 is a flexible CPE device that is designed to deliver standards-based Ethernet and/or traditional
TDM services to end-users in Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) or Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) environments. The device has two slots
designed to support modular, hot swappable plug-ins, and it can operate any combination of modular plug-ins. The following
plug-ins are available:
8 Ports 10/100BaseT
8 Port T1/E1
8 Port DMT VDSL
The Salira 3345 is used to deliver service to multiple end-users, enabling superior amortization of equipment and the
fiber plant. The Salira 3345 is ideal for serving end-users situated in MTU and MDU buildings. The device can be maintained
as a network-based element, or as a customer premises-based device. With the Salira 3345, carriers can define, monitor and
enforce unique Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on a per port basis.
All versions of Salira 3000 Series standards-based ONUs are compatible on the same PON link. This enables different
ONUs to be added to any PON link to provide maximum deployment flexibility. Moreover, auto-discovery of ONUs make plug-and-play
deployments a reality.
For added security when placed in an unsecured or shared wiring closet, ports are blocked from sending or receiving traffic
until appropriate access has been authorized. Once authorized, any attempt to snoop, hack, or mirror traffic will result in
lock-out of the affected ONU. In addition to physical security, the Salira 3345 is protected by logical security using Access
Control Lists (ACLs). ACLs can be set to prevent unknown devices from accessing the system, or to control access to external
sites at the MAC and/or IP address level.
Salira 3000 Series ONUs are designed to NEBS Level 1 compliance, and they are equipped with a power supply that automatically
supports varying global voltage requirements. Salira ONUs are designed to meet all UL and CB standards for safety.
