Salira 3350-S Optical Network Units
The Salira 3350-S has a built-in fiber spooler that provides up to one meter of fiber storage.
This provides some additional range of motion if the device needs to be moved after the fiber
connection has been established. In addition, the circular spooling reduces stress on the fiber
connection. A built-in lock prevents end-users from disturbing the fiber connection unnecessarily.
The lock can be opened by a master key that is held by the carrier or service provider. The Salira 3350-S
can be mounted to a wall, or it can sit or stand on a desktop.
All versions of Salira 3000 Series standards-based ONUs are compatible on the same PON link. This enables
different ONUs to be added to any PON link to provide maximum deployment flexibility. Moreover, auto-discovery
of ONUs greatly simplifies deployments. For added security when placed in an unsecured or shared wiring closet,
ports are blocked from sending or receiving traffic until appropriate access has been authorized. Once authorized,
any attempt to snoop, hack, or mirror traffic will result in lock-out of the affected ONU. In addition to physical
security, the Salira 3350-S is protected by logical security using Access Control Lists (ACLs). ACLs can be set to
prevent unknown devices from accessing the system, or to control access to external sites at the MAC and/or IP address level.
