Salira created a fully-featured Command Line Interface (CLI) so that operators would be able to manage network elements using standard text commands over any Internet connection. Salira supplements the many industry-standard commands with Salira-specific commands that are detailed in the comprehensive technical documentation provided to customers. Accessible via TELNET or by direct access through the serial port on the System Controller Card, CLI enables operators to perform network management tasks from remote locations or when present at the equipment. CLI is designed to view and access one Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and all subtended equipment at a time. The Command Line Interface is organized into a number of command modes and sub-modes where related functions are grouped in a hierarchical tree structure. System maintenance and configuration commands are reserved for users with administrator privileges, while users with lower access levels can only perform provisioning tasks or view statistics and status information.
