Salira OLT 2550

HIGH DENSITY OPTICAL LINE TERMINAL

The Salira OLT 2550 is the high-density version of the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) that is located at the head-end side of the network that would be used to serve more densely-concentrated groups of customers. The Salira OLT 2550 connects to multiple Optical Network Units (ONUs) to form a point-to-multipoint network topology. The Salira 2550 supports up to 28 PON links, each delivering 1Gbps of symmetrical user bandwidth distributed to multiple ONUs up to 70 kilometers away depending on the split ratio. The Salira 2550 chassis is equipped with 16 card slots numbered from left to right. Slots 1 and 16 are dedicated for System Controller Cards (SCCs). Slots 2 through 15 accommodate standards-based Optical Line Cards (SOLCs). Each SOLC has 2 GE ports for backhaul traffic and 2 PON ports with optical budgets to handle 1:64 splits. Any combination of ONU models available in the Salira 3300 Series may be connected to the same SOLC card.
