In 2004, Salira Systems, Inc. selected Teknovus, Inc. to be its exclusive supplier of IEEE 802.3ah standards-compliant EPON chipsets. Teknovus is the leading developer and supplier of EPON access chipsets and embedded software for the FTTH and FTTB markets.

Teknovus delivers the only Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) chipsets that fully support low-cost, IPTV-triple-play services via optical fiber networks. Teknovus EPON chipsets are fundamentally changing the design of broadband access networks by increasing transport capacity, optimizing fiber infrastructure, improving manageability, integrating services functionality and drastically reducing the cost of optical access. Teknovus offers end-to-end, IEEE 802.3ah standards-compliant EPON ICs for both Central Office (CO) and Customer Premises (CPE) applications.

Teknovus supplies a family of gigabit Ethernet PON (EPON) chips enabling low cost fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fiber-to-the-business (FTTB) solutions. EPONs are low-cost shared fiber optic access networks that reduce the capital and operational expense of FTTH and FTTB systems by eliminating active devices in the outside plant, minimizing fiber deployment and reducing the number of optical ports at the central office.
